Google blames Easter

April 1st, 2008 by Greg

OK well ‘Payment in Progress’ actually appeared on the payment history page for UK Adsense publishers yesterday. An Adsense pro then posted an ‘Update’ on the Adsense Help forum after the event saying that this was down to the Easter weekend falling at the same time as the payment process was due to start.

This leads me to a few thoughts :

  1. Is the UK, or Ireland where UK publishers are handled, the only place that celebrates Easter? - I don’t think so.
  2. Did Google not know about Easter and therefor not have the time to either rearrange the payment process OR more importantly give publishers advance notice that this thing called Easter may delay the payment process? - Hmm this involves communication so is probably out of the question.
  3. If Easter was the cause, why has it never been an issue before?
  4. Christmas has never caused this kind of delay, why is Easter?

I know I shouldn’t complain about  those that pay me but come on Google, a little communication would have stopped the posts of various forums from publishers that have got extremely concerned about their income and the lack of information.
