Unfortunately I am out of town for the next couple of days so will not be able to drop on other blogs until I return at the weekend.

I had thought about asking the family to do it for me but by the time I have explained it all to them I will have returned.

I am disappointed as I have hit 300 drops a day for the past 2 weeks and I have just started receiving 300+ drops a day in return and all that is going to go down the drain.

Please continue to drop on me and when I return at the weekend I will get straight back into it.

As you can see I added projectwonderful ads to the right of my blog but I am starting to wonder if this was a good move.

I left everything to the Projectwonderful defaults so the first ads where for free and then incrementing at $0.01c per day.

Now to be honest, 4 ads at $0.01 a days is not much to write home about, and a bit worrying, it cost me more in time to put the ads there in the first place.

I am away for a few days this week so I am going to give these ads two weeks trial and if prices don’t increase by much then I will consider using the blog real estate for something else more worthwhile.

in the Entrecard inbox is something showing the number of drops the dropper has made on your blog in the past x days, x being 5 or 7 or something like that.

Why? When you get a large number of drops, some like dropping on consistent droppers, others like dropping on new droppers and some like dropping on a mix of both new and consistent.

It shouldn’t be hard to do as the information already exists and it could be overlayed the blogs button in the same way as when you browse the ‘campaign’ categories.

I am pleased to say welcome to my first direct advertiser on the left. JobysBlog’s ad has finally confirmed that the OIOPublisher script is at last fully functional.

It has been a testing period ironing out a few bugs with the script but now it’s there I am so happy.

Joby has obviously realised that by paying for his ad with Entrecard widgets he can have his ad displayed for 14 days for the same price as one or two days if he ordered it via the Entrecard site so we both win, he gets his ad for longer, I get 100% of the cost.

Google is really confusing me these days.

A month ago wrote Strange things with Google sitemaps but now Google has yet again removed YzooSearch from their index. In the earlier post I mentioned how Webmaster tools reported that Googlebot had not visited the homepage since June 5th, well that has changed and the message is a positive ‘Googlebot has successfully accessed your home page’ but still no pages are indexed.

OK maybe an exaggeration it’s a dilemma not a nightmare.

I am in a position I didn’t think I would be in on Entrecard, I had 400 drops on my blog yesterday. I do like to return the favor but obviously with the limit of 300/day I am unable to.

There are blogs that I always visit and drop on, I have messed up in that rather than mark them as favorites I just recognise them in my inbox and will visit these anyway. The problem I am thinking about is do I return the drop on those that I know will return the favor or do I visit and drop on new droppers to me? Read the rest of this entry »

It was reported to me yesterday that when ordering an adspot on my blog and opting to pay with EntreCard Credits, the EntreCard API was returning an error reporting a bug in the API. No wonder I was seeing orders for ads but no payments.

Well Entrecard claimed I must have used the wrong Seller ID or something which I had already checked and double checked. Simon of OIOPublisher believed that it must be a bug in the EC API as it is that that is reporting the error.

Simon did look into it further and found that certain characters in the Ad Space Title where not being accepted by the EC API, such as a full stop.

To cut a long story it appears to be working now, so feel free to put an ad on here by completing the Order form here.

I’ve been using Entrecard for about 3 or 4 weeks now and somehow this blog has managed to get into the top 10 for the Mixed Bag category based on the Entrecard popularity.

Now my target is to get into the top 3 but that’s not going to be easy, my popularity needs to increase by atleast 30% to get near to 3rd spot and about 70% to get near #1 spot.

Overall though does not look good, I am sitting around #120 although an increase of about 5%-10% would see me in the top 100.

Do you care about your popularity on EntreCard? Do you think it makes much difference?

I would like to apologise to those web site owners and bloggers who are hosted on my server for the short downtime experienced within the past half hour. I believe I know which site caused the problem and I will be monitoring it and if necessary moving it to another of my servers to ensure the problem is not repeated.
