Good bye NHS

November 5th, 2008 by Greg

Here in the UK we have the National Health Service, the idea being that medical treatment is free.

Our government has announced yesterday, after pressure from people who have been told the treatment is to expensive, that if people wanted to top up their treatment privately and still receive the rest (affordable) treatment from the NHS then they can.

That sounds fair, but what about those that can’t afford to? imagine being told my your consultant that you need treatment, then to be told by those in suits that it is too expensive for the NHS to fund but feel free to pay for it yourself.  That is bad in my opinion and even worse if you can’t afford it!

Surely if the consultant says you need it then it should be made available?

We all pay National Insurance that is meant to go towards the costs of NHS and state pensions, to then be told pay for it yourself. It stinks. We have a poor NHS and poor state pensions but we can give billions to the banks that have given us a global financial crisis. What the ….. is going on in the heads of the people running our country?

That is sad. Health care is outrageous these days. You can’t afford to get sick. We have health insurance and it still kills us to pay the medical bills here. That really stinks.

Ahhhh. And this is probably the future of the US health care system under socialized medicine. Just watch. There’s a reason all those people are going to India for treatment!
