Entrecard want me out?

April 17th, 2009 by Greg

I am bemused, I logged into  Entrecard this morning to be presented with the following  message:

A lot of your posts contain affiliate links. This is against A2 of our TOS. Please fix within 72 hours are your site could be marked for deletion.

Please can someone find an affiliate link in any of my posts and point it out to me please? I can’t remember the last time I included an affiliate link.

Maybe they are referring to the one I used in a couple of posts at the beginning of the year for a MLM program I joined and since left.

Maybe it is the links to my own sites that they beleive are affiliate links, well if they checked them they would see they are not.

OR MAYBE it’s because I am not accepting paid ads and I have added an image (with a link) that lets people know I do not accept paid ads.

The last appears the most likely to me as I added the new image yesterday and today I get the above warning.

WHO the F*&^ does Graham think he is telling me what I can and can’t do with my blog?

I have asked Entrecard to give me evidence of all the affiliate links but I am not holding my breath.

Maybe they mean the “Get paid to review my post” at the end of your posts. Not sure, just guessing. Plus I can’t see your widget?

      Sue

I had forgot I had them, yea even though I see them every time a view my blog:)

I would be surprised if that is the reason as I have seen them all over and have had them on my blog since about same time I joined Entrecard.

Affiliate links in posts??? hmm, invisible to me as I don’t see them. lol
Go figure! Seems he does think he can run peoples business.

I did have a ‘get paid to review this post’ link on each post which linked to Payperpost.com which I have removed.

To be honest I am not overly concerned if Entrecard decides to remove me, they way it is going once I have finished my current coding project I have decided that I am going restart my EC ‘clone’ project which I plan to have up (the basics at least) within a month.

another case of the flexible expandable tos.

    that’s just nuts.
so these posts are on the forum ?
    or on your blog ?
and if they are on your blog – you are totally correct.

you should take a peep at some of the comments on the entreard mystery math post at my site.

    reallllly enlightening.

as you notice entrecard is ever shrinking, daily.

These posts are posts on MY blog, the blog I use to write what I want. I don’t have affiliate links in my posts generally but if I wanted to include one then that IS my choice.

EC has not responded to my request for them to point out to me where these links are, and I am half way through the the 72 hours they have given me to remove them and that warning is still in place on my EC dashboard.

  • Jude says:

From reading in the forum it seems a lot of people have been getting some type of warning for different things, maybe they have some new mods that are over zealous? Your blog looks fine to me.

  • Annie says:

EC shut out one of my linked blogs for inappropriate content which was hilarious since it is a family oriented site about Disney and Mickey Mouse. I have asked 2 or 3 times now for them to explain themselves and remedy the situation but nothing!!
