This is something that really gets to me, I work from home, self employed doing whatever I can to earn a buck. Sometimes I earn little sometimes I earn a bit more but whatever it is I earn, I do it from home working on the PC.
Why is it my wife expects me to do things at a drop of a hat as if there is no concequences. When I tell the kids to have a break from the game consoles and go play something else I get ‘but you sit playing on computer all day’.
Even when talking to my sister, it would be ‘how did you afford to do that, you don’t do anything do you?’
Years ago it got to me so much that I actually rented and office and went to work, the problem with that was, I would be working late, just like when working at home, and Tracey would moan I am never at home.
In the past 3 years I have managed to clear all of our debts (apart from mortgage), had house rewired, new double glazing and facias etc, rerendered all round and the bathroom stripped out and replaced. 4 European holidays (OK not 5*) and then purchased a MotorHome. Where do they think I get the money from?
Am I the only one at home that has this problem? Is working from home still not something that people understand and accept as being ‘real work’?

I thought that maybe, just maybe with the new ownership of Entrecard we would not see long server downtimes etc that we had seen under the previous management but all day today all I see when I try to log in is the message :
‘Entrecard application server failed
The server that does the complicated work has not responded in time, this could be due to load, due to an upgrade happening, or something else even weirder. An alert should have been triggered to the admins so they’re no doubt trying to deal with it right now, we recommend trying again in 10 minutes.’
This has been the case for the past 6 hours. Is it just me? I dont think so as the Dropaholics server is unable to get updates from Entrecard which is messing things a bit.
Is there any explanation on the EC blog? NO
Anything in the EC ‘Announcements’ forum? NO
Does Entrecard just invite management with no customer care/service skills?

About 2 days before the end of our Spanish holiday, our 2nd son Sam was in an abnoxious mood, back chatting everything I said to him bla bla, I was also not in the best of moods myself making it a long day. I decided to go and get a pint of beer on my own.
The problem was I walked passed a tobacanist, and you guessed it I went in an bought a pack of cigarettes. I failed and smoked about 10 of them.
I have left the banner at the top of my blog as I am pleased to say I have not smoked sincen that night.

Doesn’t time fly.
I am sorry not have posted over the past month, I must admit it’s been a month of leisure.
We took the Motorhome to scotland for a few days, this was the first long drive (5 hour) trip we had done. It was also the longest trip away in it. We had a laugh, we even got a bus to Edinburgh, the first time I have got on a bus in 25 years.
A few days after returning from Scotland we had our annual 2 week summer vacation in Spain. This was not a trip in the Motorhome but a self catering holiday we have taken for the past 3 years.
The Spain holiday was a bit of a nightmare, we took the Inlaws which in theory would have been not a problem, they stayed in a different apartment block then us so we would not be together 24/7. That was not the case tho, we are lucky in that we have contacts so we get a good rate, paying just £300/week (about $450USD) in August on the sea front. We have been staying in the same apartment every year, but the inlaws though was a first time and their appartment was, lets say ‘a bit loud’ and not what they expected, this meant they spent most of the waking day in our apartment. Hey we learn from these things, we had 2 weeks of sunshine and we will be returning next year (just us this time).
Next year is where Tracey and I disagree, she wants to fly to spain, and use the Motorhome for domestic trips. I on the otherhand I want to use the motorhome to drive to spain, spending a week driving the 1000 miles there and a week driving back, with a week or two there.
Oh well thats next year, back to work
