What a nightmare 400 drops received
October 24th, 2008 by GregOK maybe an exaggeration it’s a dilemma not a nightmare.
I am in a position I didn’t think I would be in on Entrecard, I had 400 drops on my blog yesterday. I do like to return the favor but obviously with the limit of 300/day I am unable to.
There are blogs that I always visit and drop on, I have messed up in that rather than mark them as favorites I just recognise them in my inbox and will visit these anyway. The problem I am thinking about is do I return the drop on those that I know will return the favor or do I visit and drop on new droppers to me?By dropping on the regular droppers I know I will get drops on my site, but on the other hand if I drop on the new droppers hopefully I will get new regulars.
If I drop on the new droppers will loose the regulars? could I end up loosing regulars both ways?
I know many just drop and run, but it’s knowing which of those do that, I obviously want to keep the drop and read regulars some how.
All I can say is SORRY to those I don’t get round to dropping on today but I will do my best to visit your blog anyway and drop tomorow.
I think it is now time for me to make use of the ‘favorite’ feature.

Boy, that’s a problem I don’t have. Not sure what I’d do. I think I’d return on the new droppers for awhile at least and trust your old ones will stay faithful. Still, it’s a problem I wouldn’t want.
I would not know. I get barely half of drops back :o)
Have a great weekend!
That’s funny. I woke up yesterday and already had 152 drops in my Inbox. I ended up with over 300 drops on me yesterday. That’s the first time that has happened.
Hi.
It´s really a dilema. If you have regular readers and droppers, it´s a risk not to return to those faithful readers, but if you don´t return the drops for one day or two I think they´ll understand.
My problem is a bit different, I have some blogs in my account and I don´t have time to make so many drops.
All the best.
Mizé.
This month, I’ve only had three days where I had less than 300 cards dropped on me, so I have to face this every day. Because of this, I’ve adopted a completely different approach to dropping.
I drop based on sites where I’m advertising, lists that people have of groups they’re in, their recent or top droppers, people who have sent me notes, sites I’ve listed as favorites, as well as who is in my inbox.
I spend a lot of time clicking through from one advertisement to the next.
So, I have no idea if I’m hitting all my regulars or all my new users. Instead, I’m dropping on the sites that catch my interest for the day, and it seems to work pretty well for me.
Wow, I wish that I had this problem. It seems like I only get around 1/2 of the drops of what I drop. I think that you should do what you feel most comfortable doing and if you see you are losing people, then try a new approach!
Wow! Congrats!! Someday, I hope to have that ‘problem’. I am sure you’ll figure something out. Either way, you’ll have people visiting you.
I just recently started getting more than 300 drops on me, and I had the same problem. I’ve been going through first and doing my favorites and regulars. Then when I make my second round, I usually only drop back on sites that have been updated in the past few days (with a real post, not a paid post) because I’d rather drop on a site that is updated with real content. Congrats on your drops!
