Bloody speed camera’s

November 19th, 2008 by Greg

I was really pissed a few weeks ago when I drove past a speed camera and as I drove past it flashed and within days got a letter through the door informing me I was caught on camera.

I wake this morning to find a new fixed camera has appeared just up the road from where I live, there was no sign of it last night, a neighbor of ours drove past the spot late last night and there was no camera, this morning take the kids to school the traffic appeared heavier than normal but for no apparent reason but then as you drive out of the village, there it is the nice new shiney camera. Where did it come from? is it needed? well it’s not an accident black spot, it’s not where you would normally see lots of pedestrians that could be in danger. Heck it’s only 100 yeards from a traffic light controlled junction so people are not going to be going at top speed anyway.

I think those that run our country are just obsessed with these things, I am all for road safety and agree cameras should be put in accident black spots but please stop wasting our bloody money.

Maybe we should try using the Speed Control Bikini  Bandits to slow drivers down as shown in this video:

We had those cameras in Charlotte, NC, but for some reason they were deemed “unconstitutional” and finally removed.

Gotta love those, Danes, eh? Thinking outside the box. I would think it would cause more accidents than anything.

Did she say “We’re the breast in the world?” LOL

  • Metallman says:

Yup, we need some of those out here as well. Doesn’t hurt to give these ladies a shot at slowing drivers down. lol

  • That’s really sneaky putting it in overnight. Where do you live Greg?

I’m surprised that some local authorities are still installing these things when others are taking them out, according to a news item I heard on BBC R4 earlier in the week.

Maybe you could re-title your post SCAMeras!

I am in Nottinghamshire, UK. and yes it was sneaky. I presume if asked they would say it’s to minimise disruption.

    Lala

Yes, and try explaining to your insurance company/partner what caused the accident:) ‘I was distracted by a young lady shaking her bare breasts at me’

ugh that would aggravate me. The cameras I mean. Not because I am a speeder but I think all of us accidently do occasionally. We notice it and slow down. Now the naked boob thing? I am an adult and have nothing against boobs. I have some myself. (lol) But as a mother of four young girls I think it’s awful and sends the wrong message and yes would CAUSE some accidents. I am glad that thing doesn’t happen here because I wouldn’t drive by them…and I guess that could be hard to avoid.

wow that’s an awesome idea however, it makes a long line of heavy traffic for men especially because they;re wowwwwwww!

    nice posting eh..

Wish our Malaysian Traffic Department would be innovative and deploy Speed Limit Live Signs like in that picture.

    LOL!
